Neighbours' Paul left devastated by Terese bombshell

Neighbours spoilers follow from Thursday's episode (February 17) on Channel 5, which some Australian viewers may prefer to avoid.

Neighbours has hinted that there may be no way back for Paul Robinson and Terese Willis's marriage.

Paul (Stefan Dennis) and Terese's (Rebekah Elmaloglou) relationship recently hit the rocks again after the truth was revealed about the scheming businessman's supposed health crisis.

After sustaining injuries in the Flamingo Bar disaster, Paul deliberately prolonged his recovery with help from a dodgy doctor in order to manipulate Terese into taking him back.

Since Paul's son David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) exposed his lies, Terese has vowed that she wants nothing more to do with her husband.

In Thursday's episode on Channel 5, Paul made two misguided attempts to convince Terese to change her mind.

First up, he tricked Karl (Alan Fletcher) and Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) into becoming reluctant mediators as he tried to talk to Terese.

The idea ended in chaos when Paul insulted the Kennedys to further his arguments, pointing out how many times Susan has forgiven Karl for cheating on her.

Plan B saw Paul write his feelings for Terese down in a letter, hoping that his emotional words would win her over.

Paul was delighted when Terese came to visit him at the penthouse shortly after he'd delivered the letter. However, he was in for a nasty surprise when Terese admitted that she hadn't read it.

Lamenting the number of times Paul has messed up, Terese explained: "Every time that you seduce me into thinking that things will be different, you diminish me that much more."

Paul offered to give Terese some space, but she replied: "I want more. I want a divorce."
