With Mark's departure on the horizon, Aaron and David encourage him to at least have a proper farewell with everyone on the street. But Mark reveals that while he's committed to supporting Fay as her condition worsens and believes his life needs a new direction, he's also devastated about leaving Erinsborough and can't bring himself to say personal goodbyes.
However, after a run-in with Roxy and advice from Aaron, Mark sets upon on a compromise. With a heavy heart, Mark records video messages for everyone who meant something to him on the street and presses send as he leaves.
When Elly receives her message, she's devastated that Mark is going without saying goodbye in person. After pushing for information from Aaron, Elly rushes to find Mark at the lake, where he is saying final goodbyes to Sonya and Kate. Despite their rocky history, Mark and Elly share a fond, heartwarming goodbye before Mark moves forward to his next chapter.
Meanwhile, having destroyed Yashvi and Ned's relationship, Scarlett is primed to close in on Ned. However, Bea is still suspicious about Yashvi's insistence that she saw Ned and Scarlett wrapped up together and asks Toadie to check in with Ned. Ned is adamant that his friendship with Scarlett is innocent, but Toadie's comments set him thinking.
When Paul and Kyle both notice that Scarlett has the hots for him, Ned is torn. He cares for Yashvi and hates to upset her, but he's conscious of abandoning Scarlett. He asks Kyle to watch out for her, then breaks it gently to Scarlett – he needs to back off. Scarlett pretends to be fine, but she's secretly panicked. When Ned escorts her home, a brick suddenly crashes through the window with a note attached saying "You're mine". It seems Scarlett has found a way to dial up her damsel in distress gambit – will Ned fall for it?
