With the bar closed, Roxy hopes to obtain employment at The Waterhole – also hoping it will give her a reprieve from Harlow's slave-driving. However, Sheila is still angry at Roxy for framing Gary for Paul's attack and refuses to hire her. Regretful of past mistakes, a dejected Roxy turns to Mark for comfort. Sympathetic, Mark heads to The Waterhole and reminds Sheila that everyone deserves a second – or fifth – chance.
Persuaded by Mark's sentiment, Sheila hires Roxy. Roxy is moved by Mark's care. She cajoles him into handing over his house keys so she can arrange a sexy reward for him. But when Harlow comes over to the Brennan house, she's thrown by the romantic display of candles and champagne. It doesn't look like a sexy reward – it looks like a proposal.
Harlow is convinced Roxy is falling for Mark, but before Roxy can argue, Mark arrives at the door and is about to enter. Roxy is about to get sprung – with Harlow and her overboard gesture.
Meanwhile, reeling at the idea that Mackenzie could be her half-sister, Yashvi is desperate for the truth. A snoop around Mackenzie's locker offers no new information, but when Yashvi witnesses a familiar moment between Mackenzie and Shane, her suspicions are solidified. Yashvi confronts Shane, demanding to know if he had an affair with the woman in Mackenzie's photo.
Shane fervently denies it, as he would never cheat on Dipi. However, he won't explain his connection to Mackenzie, leaving Yashvi wary of what she doesn't know. Understanding Mackenzie's secret isn't his to tell but concerned by Yashvi's upset, Shane asks Mackenzie to trust his family, believing they will accept and support her.
What to Read Next
Shane plans a family meeting, promising Yashvi that all will come out as soon as Mackenzie arrives. But Yashvi's mounting dread causes her to flee and confront Mackenzie when she finds her outside the house. Mackenzie assures Yashvi that she isn't Shane's daughter, but has in fact asked Shane to help track down her father, admitting she also grew up in Bourke.
Confused but not remembering her, Yashvi doesn't understand why there has been so much secrecy, forcing Mackenzie to nervously reveal the truth. She and Yashvi have met before – they used to know each other in primary school, but back then Mackenzie was known as Michael. Yashvi is thrown to realise her old school chum has transitioned, but hopes she hasn't put her foot in it too badly. Mackenzie is relieved, having been concerned Yashvi wouldn't accept her. With both girls back on the same page, they resolve to stay friends.
