Elly is confronted when Finn urges her to get to know Shaun better, but nonetheless proceeds to invite Shaun along to an outdoor art therapy class she is attending with Bea and Finn. While Bea and Finn grow quickly comfortable with each other, it's awkward for Elly and Shaun. However, they soon warm up to one another as they bond over their impending parenthood, leading Elly to invite Shaun to the baby's 12-week scan.
David excitedly suggests to Aaron that a trip to Japan is just the thing their relationship needs after overcoming their fracture regarding Finn. But Aaron remains concerned that Mark is throwing himself into work to avoid dealing with the breakdown of his marriage. He wonders whether it's best to stick around.
Mark encourages the pair to go and Aaron and David excitedly book tickets. But after Mark sees Elly spending time with Shaun, his hurt feelings are stirred. Mark begins to look into whether there's a connection between Shaun and the fire that destroyed the police's evidence on Finn - in a manner that borders on vengeful. Have Aaron and David just booked to leave at the worst possible time?
Meanwhile, Yashvi catches up with Ned and learns that he has taken enough of an interest in her to have been at her footy games. She is buoyed by this and warmed when he thanks her for standing by him after the Foundation launch fiasco. So when Ned is amused by a piece of egg stuck on her face, Yashvi assumes he's gazing longingly at her lips and plants a kiss on him, unaware Shaun has witnessed the moment.
Ned quickly pulls back from Yashvi and explains she got the wrong idea, leading an embarrassed Yashvi to flee. Shaun mentions the kiss to a stunned Bea, who's left confused by how she feels about the idea of her ex moving on with one of her besties. Finn helps take her mind off it by making her laugh and their closeness leads to a charged moment where Bea and Finn come to the brink of a kiss, before pulling away in shock. What did they almost do?
Elsewhere, stunned by Terese's ultimatum, Vance knows if he simply cuts and runs, Roxy will be shattered. While trying to change her mind, Vance suggests that a part of Terese wants him gone because of her complicated feelings towards him. Unwilling to admit it, Terese compromises and gives him a week to break things off. Roxy piques Terese's guilt when she admits the depth of her love for Vance, but it's not enough to change her mind. Getting Vance out of their lives is what's best, for all involved.
