He might be enjoying success in the States, but Luke Mitchell would happily return to Home and Away, he has revealed.

The actor, who played Romeo Smith in the Aussie soap between 2009 and 2013, said that he would 'absolutely' consider making a Summer Bay comeback. But hang on a minute, didn't Romeo die?

If we cast our minds back to 2013, Romeo was diagnosed with incurable skin cancer and fled his hometown in a bid to save his wife Indi Walker from heartbreak. Sadly, not long after his departure, news of his death reached his loved ones.

But we all know that a character 'dying' has never stopped a soap comeback (just ask Dee Bliss in Neighbours), and Luke even has an idea for a return plot.

Discussing whether he would reprise his role as Romeo, he said to TV Week: "Absolutely I would.

"It could be a flashback - or a dream sequence where Alf is dreaming about Romeo. I have a lot of friends on the show, so I would definitely consider it."
