Zara is still in town. Rose has noticed but tries to play it cool. When Rose and Mali meet for date night later, both are shocked when Zara crashes their evening. Zara swears her intentions are good – she feels bad for making things difficult between them and wants to shout them dinner. Suddenly Rose's date night is looking like a dinner for three.
The next day, Xander plays protective big brother and confronts Zara. He warns that he knows what Zara is up to and Rose and Mali deserve their own space. When Rose tries to speak with Zara, she's shut down by an anti-cop stance. Rose decides that she's had enough and she warns Mali that it's either Zara or her.
Meanwhile, when Felicity is called home from Salt for a romantic meal with Tane, the topic of kids is still on his mind. Guilty over the ongoing lie that she's trying to conceive, Felicity bristles when Tane polices her drinking. Tane's excitement is palpable – he can't wait for fatherhood, and when Felicity tries to curb his expectations, it doesn't make a difference.
Elsewhere, Roo discovers Alf is on his way back to the Bay and summons Marilyn home. Marilyn is floored when Roo lays out her expectations – she demands Marilyn must lie that it was her own decision to move out. Can Marilyn lie to Alf for Roo's benefit?
