Roo responds with anger to Marilyn's ultimatum – she thinks Alf deserves a break and Marilyn is not being fair on him. Marilyn finds a compromise – she leaves a reluctant Theo to look after Roo while she looks for a suitable alternative.
Theo struggles with Roo's care, and under the guise of getting her water, he sneaks away to call Marilyn. He tells her that Roo seems to be getting worse.
Marilyn calls in Bree for her expert opinion, and Bree is quick to point out that Roo's care plan includes having someone there with her – presumably Marilyn. If she can no longer facilitate that, she'll need to return to hospital. Dreading being back in hospital, Roo begrudgingly agrees – Marilyn can stay for now.
