Despite Felicity's hesitation about resetting a date for the wedding, Tane ploughs ahead with wedding plans. Mackenzie is affronted by Felicity when she comes to raid Salt like her personal liquor cabinet for the party. Gabe is noticeably unimpressed.
Mackenzie worries for her friend, who seems to be going off the rails, but feels obliged to defend her against Gabe's judgement. When Gabe oversteps, Mac warns him off interfering in her business.
Later, Tane arrives home, aghast over the party. Felicity is flippant, telling a brooding Tane to get in the party mood. The truth dawns on Tane – Felicity is throwing a party to avoid talk of the wedding.
Causing a public scene, Felicity drunkenly informs Tane that she doesn't want to get married. Knowing there is more at play, Tane won't be sidelined. Vulnerable and drunk, Felicity admits that she's tormented by memories of the accident. Tane is heartbroken for her suffering.
Meanwhile, an icy Mali thinks Rose should have mentioned that she's a cop. Rose is offended at being judged for her job.
Rose and Mali cringe when they arrive at the same party. Wanting to clear the air, Rose forces Mali to talk. Mali says that, where he comes from, people don't trust cops. Rose makes an impassioned plea for Mali to look past the uniform and see her for who she is. Warming to Rose's dance moves, Mali can't help but be slightly won over by her. Charmed, Mali agrees to go on another date with Rose.
Elsewhere, a less than sober Cash becomes maudlin, wondering if he'll ever get his happy ever after with Eden. John advises Cash not to give up on love.
