When Theo starts asking strange questions about marriage, Leah gets the wrong idea and believes that he's going to propose to Kirby. Leah and Justin try to warn him off, but Theo declares that it's Kirby who wants marriage and he doesn't want any part of it. Theo is adamant that marriage as a concept is not for him – but he wonders how to tell Kirby, who clearly does want it.
Theo tells Kirby that he doesn't want to get married, but he knows she does. Kirby is flabbergasted that Theo is talking about marriage so soon. Theo admits his reaction has a lot to do with how bad his home life was. She's supportive as Theo details some of the abuse he suffered from his father.
Meanwhile, after Stacey catches Rose giving her dirty looks, the two have it out. Rose thinks she's not honest, while Stacey thinks Rose is controlling. Xander walks in on them "talking" and the friction between them grows. Later, unable to lose her nagging suspicions, Rose goes on Smouldr and discovers Stacey still has an active account.
Elsewhere, Justin gets permission from Kirby and Rose to sell the cruise they won in the golf tournament. Later, John returns to the Diner just in time to see Rose receive an anonymous $5,000 donation – the exact amount they needed.
