A loved-up Chloe and Theo struggle to keep their hands off each other, despite Theo's urgent TAFE assignment. Now that Theo is done with community service, Chloe is determined to get more of Theo's time. Theo still doesn't have much time to spare, but he struggles to say no to an adoring Chloe.

A caring Justin warns Theo not to leave his assignment to the last minute, which puts Theo on edge. Unable to withstand the pressure, Theo snaps at Chloe that he needs space to do his assignment. A hurt Chloe recoils as Theo storms out.

Noticing the tension, Leah and Justin decide to play peacekeepers. A supportive Leah reminds Chloe that she used to be a busy bee running her own business once. Learning that Chloe previously enrolled in a business course, Leah has an idea, but her intervention into Chloe's future backfires when Chloe tells Leah to stay out of it.

Later, a vulnerable Chloe confides in Tane that she fears resuming business studies as it reminds her of her father Matthew and everything that went wrong with him. Supportive, Tane proposes that Chloe start with baby steps – what about doing the gym accounts for him?

Chloe reaches out to apologise to Leah for her stormy attitude earlier and Leah is understanding. Leah offers to help a grateful Chloe wrap her head around the accounting software.

Meanwhile, Marilyn's overbearing management of Tex is getting on Irene's nerves. Irene kindly suggests that Marilyn let Tex figure things out for himself, but Marilyn's hearing none of it. Irene can't take Marilyn's distraction and confiscates her phone at work.

Elsewhere, Tane and Felicity's sexy housewarming celebrations are interrupted by a glum Nikau. When they announce the news about Felicity moving in, Nikau is less than enthused. Fearing her decision to move in is a problem for Nikau, Felicity gently prods. Nikau admits that it's not Felicity's fault, but he finds it difficult to be in the house with two happy, loved-up couples while Bella is in New York.

Tane catches Nikau looking up flights to New York and to Nikau's surprise, supports the idea. Nikau worries about neglecting his job and responsibilities in Summer Bay, but he can't stand the separation any longer. Tane reminds Nikau that he worked hard for this lifeguard job and shouldn't throw it away, but Nikau should do what feels right for him.

On the phone to Bella, Nikau is about to announce his decision to come to New York when his lifeguard radio interrupts: they have a swimmer in distress in the water. Nikau hangs up and rushes out to the rescue.
