Home and Away spoilers follow for Australian-pace episodes, which UK viewers may wish to avoid.

Home and Away will air another heartbreaking setback for Martha Stewart in new scenes, as her health continues to decline.

Martha's daughter Roo Stewart has been devastated over her mum's refusal to accept a kidney transplant from her, and the family faced further upset when Dr Logan Bennett (Harley Bonner) broke the news that Martha's condition is deteriorating quickly.

TV Week reports that, in scenes airing in Australia this week and in the UK in a few weeks' time, Martha (Belinda Giblin) pays another visit to the transplant clinic but is told that she's definitely not well enough to undergo any surgery at the moment.

Logan explains to Martha that her condition is worsening and that her blood pressure is high, so her medication will need to be increased.

What to Read Next

Tearful Martha blames herself for this new setback but decides that she needs to accept her fate. Her husband Alf Stewart (Ray Meagher), meanwhile, is overcome with emotion at the bad news, but tries his best to hide his upset from his wife.

Roo (Georgie Parker), however, refuses to accept the doctor's decision and so she starts to do her own research into heart conditions and stress reduction, determined to find a way for Martha to be accepted for surgery.

Actress Georgie said: "Roo has known her mother for only a few years. Martha came back in her life, and then Roo could have saved her life but her mother wouldn't let her, and she thought she would lose her all over again."

The next morning, Roo presents her medical findings to Logan, who sets in place a course of action that aligns with Roo's health kick ideas. Although Alf isn't convinced by the plans at all, Martha is keen to try anything that might help her situation.

When Alf gets home later, he's stunned to find Martha, Roo and Marilyn Chambers (Emily Symons) meditating together on the couch. He's also confused by a strange smell, which turns out to be some healthy vegetable soup and Buddha bowls.

Despite Alf's scepticism, he admits that he hasn't seen Martha having this much fun in a long time and concedes that Roo might have been right in her approach.

The next day, the trio head off on a walk but it soon proves too much for Martha, who starts to struggle to breathe.

Alf snaps at Roo for pushing her mum too hard and, suddenly, Roo is reminded of just how fragile Martha is and how deeply concerned Alf is about her.

Can Roo's plan to help improve Martha's health really work?
