Home and Away spoilers follow for UK viewers.
Home and Away airs Ari Parata's final scenes on UK screens next week as he decides to pass away on his own terms.
Upcoming episodes on Channel 5 see Ari rushed to hospital from prison, where he's currently awaiting trial after making a false confession to Matthew Montgomery's murder.
Ari is initially diagnosed with appendicitis, but once he's taken down for an operation, the surgeons discover that the problem is much more serious.
Ari and his loved ones are told that he has cancer of the appendix and tumours in his abdomen.

Tragically, there is no cure for Ari. His only real treatment option is an extreme surgical procedure, which would give him some extra time.
In next week's episodes, Ari breaks the news to his loved ones that he doesn't want the surgery.
Mia, Tane and Nikau all struggle to process the revelation, but Ari explains that he doesn't want to spend his final days going back and forth from prison and a hospital bed.
Instead, Ari would prefer to be surrounded by the people he loves when he passes away.

Mia remains devastated, but she responds by bringing forward her planned wedding to Ari, which was originally going to take place at the prison.
Mia and Ari share some heartfelt, improvised vows in front of their family at the hospital.
Sadly, once the ceremony is over, Ari's health starts to deteriorate.
Ari is examined by doctor Logan Bennett, who warns the Parata family that it might be time to prepare for the worst.

Surrounded by his loved ones, Ari sings himself a Māori song before taking his last breath.
Rob Kipa-Williams, who played Ari, addressed his departure from Home and Away when these scenes aired in Australia last month.
Writing on Instagram, he said: "Thank you to the fans, for all the love and crazy amounts of messages and support. Thank you to all the cast, crew, camera, directors, production, writing, makeup, art department and everyone else in between, that make the wheels spin," he shared.
"This Iconic Ozzie TV show took risks. I'm honoured to have co-created Māori cultural storylines, and will forever be proud of those scenes that made it to screen.. it was true teamwork. My hope is this opens the door for more diversity.
"Thank you for everything Ariki Wiremu Parata, you taught me a lot. I'm gonna miss you."
Home and Away airs these scenes on Monday, April 11 and Tuesday, April 12 at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
