New Home and Away characters Xander and Rose are set to make their debuts on the soap very soon – and it has been revealed that they will have a very surprising link to one established character.

Luke Van Os and Kirsty Marillier were cast last year in the two mysterious roles, though a new synopsis has confirmed their link to Summer Bay, namely that they are Jasmine's (Sam Frost) siblings.

According to a new synopsis (via TV Tonight), Jasmine is shocked by the news that her estranged father had a double life, struggling to deal with the arrival Xander and Rose, who claim to be her relatives. However, she writes them off as scam artists.

Yet after some digging, Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) discovers that their story checks out and they are indeed her long-lost siblings, and that her father left her an inheritance.

Speaking after her casting was announced last year, Kirsty said: "It feels surreal to have this become my reality. I hope UK viewers love Rose as much as I do, and get to know her deeply in 2022, as she uncovers secrets and embraces the bay."

Luke, who is the younger cousin of Chris, Liam and Luke Hemsworth, revealed that he chatted to Chris ahead of his audition for Home and Away.

"His advice was be nice, put in the work and the work doesn't end now, if anything this is when you need to work hard," he recalled.

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.15pm on Channel 5 and 6pm on 5STAR. First look screenings air at 6.30pm on 5STAR and the show also streams on My5.
