Home and Away: Dean clashes with Amber's mum

With everything going on, Dean is worried that Jai's birthday is going to be a disaster. At the party, everything is going well, until Amber's mother Francesca arrives. Dean tries to play nice, but Francesca is not having a bar of it, ridiculing him, insulting him and letting him know that if it was her way, Dean wouldn't have any part in Jai's life. Things only heat up from here.

Willow tries to get everyone to focus on Jai for his birthday, but this makes Francesca go crazy. She accuses Dean and Willow of being responsible for her son's death. Willow argues that Dean is still Jai's father, but Francesca makes it clear she is not happy that Dean is a part of her family now. Amber storms off.

John arrives, but his attempts to be friendly and give Franny a nickname put her in an even worse mood. After disparaging both Dean and Karen, Dean has an aside with Francesca and tells her the next time she puts him down in front of Jai, there will be serious trouble.

What to Read Next

Dean pulls Amber aside and asks how often she is poisoning him against his son. Dean wants there to be fairness – he wants Jai to meet Karen. Amber is determined that Karen can't meet Jai and if he doesn't like that, then he can extricate himself from Jai's life too.

Meanwhile, Leah distracts Tori at the hospital so Justin can speak to Christian without being bothered. Although Christian believes Justin should tell Tori, he still takes him to get tests behind Tori's back. Leah's distraction comes to an end when an emergency call comes through for Tori.

Later, Christian confirms to Justin that his tumour has returned. Justin seems defeated – if they couldn't get it all the first time, how will they get it this time? As they're leaving, Tori clocks them both and putting two and two together realises Justin is sick again.

Elsewhere, Tori keeps telling Leah that her and Christian aren't a thing, but the more the two flirt in front of Leah, the harder it is to convince anyone.
