Angelo is still suspicious about Dean. Colby thinks he has found an angle to get Angelo off their tail – a news article claiming Angelo got a case wrong. Colby presents the article to Taylor, prompting an explanation. Taylor explains how the case almost ruined Angelo and as a result, ruined everything they used to have together.
Colby uses this information to put in a formal complaint about Angelo harassing them. When Angelo discovers what Colby did, a fight almost erupts on the beach between them. Angelo's unhinged and ready to take Colby down.
Meanwhile, Tori prepares for work, but nothing is going right and she's running late. Leah and Justin offer to take some of the pressure off her, which she gladly accepts. Justin notes her sour mood as she leaves, which only intensifies when she arrives at work to find Jasmine and Christian laughing and enjoying one another's company.

Tori tries to warn off Jasmine from making bad decisions, but Jasmine can't work out what she has done. Finally, at the Diner, Jasmine bumps into Justin and Leah. Justin hints that Tori may have the hots for Christian, much to Leah's chagrin. But the information helps Jasmine to push things on a little between Christian and Tori.
Elsewhere, Dean and Amber meet up at the Surf Club, where Bella finally meets Jai. Dean later discovers Amber has been without steady work for some time and wants to help, but she refuses to let him. Jai stalls when asked about his birthday and says he doesn't need anything. Dean realises this is code for Amber struggling financially and when he offers to give her money, she indignantly rushes out of the Diner, dragging Jai in tow.
