Roo and Owen are smitten with each other. In a bid to give the pair some quality alone time, Marilyn works overtime to distract Alf and Ryder from returning home.
Ryder intercepts a cosy looking Roo and Owen, which leaves him entirely side swiped. Ryder makes it clear to Owen that if he hurts his aunty, he'll have him to deal with. Marilyn is incredulous to learn of the pace in which Roo and Owen's fling is progressing.
Meanwhile, Mackenzie is flattered with Ari's insistence on the couple living together, but this sentiment quickly grows thin. Ari shares his concerns about the future of his relationship with Tane, who does not disclose his prior conversation with Mac, which may be the catalyst for her swift move.
Elsewhere, Ziggy reveals to Mackenzie that she and Dean have broken up. Mackenzie goes to Ziggy's aid and the pair hash up a plan for Mac to temporarily move in with her. Ari is shattered when Mackenzie leaves the Parata house with her bags packed.
