The hangi has seemingly brought the Paratas together. However, when Mackenzie arrives, Tane makes a beeline for her. There's an obvious chemistry between the two, but Mackenzie turns him down when his flirting gets too pointed.
Noticing the exchange, Ari confronts Tane and they nearly come to blows.
Meanwhile, Ben goes to the hangi, at Gemma's request, interrupting some mother-son bonding. Having stolen his mother's attention and noticing the easiness in which the two relate, Nikau takes a disliking to him.
