Devil child Nico Blake has struck again on Hollyoaks - murdering her own grandfather Patrick.
The shocking storyline twist aired in Monday's E4 first look episode (January 4), which featured Jeremy Sheffield's final scenes in the role of Patrick.
While it was no secret that terminally-ill Patrick would be killed off, the circumstances will have come as a huge surprise to viewers as Nico (Persephone Swales-Dawson) was ultimately to blame for his demise.
The teenage schoolgirl delivered the ultimate punishment to her grandfather after discovering that he'd tried to expose her as Carly Bradley's real killer.
Patrick had originally asked his wife Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) to help him die before his motor neurone disease progressed too far, but his plans went wrong when she got cold feet at the last minute.

Although Patrick had intended to frame Maxine for his murder, he was genuinely touched by her obvious love for him when she refused to go through with it.
Patrick made the decision to live for longer so that he could spend more time with Maxine and their baby daughter Minnie, but his fatal mistake came when he told his daughter Sienna about his attempts to deal with Nico.
Listening in to the conversation over Minnie's baby monitor, Nico was left in a furious mood as she heard that Patrick had sent a disc to Carly's father Ben which named her as the real killer.
When a panicking Sienna rushed out of the flat, it gave Nico the chance to get her revenge. The act itself took place off screen, but viewers saw her menacingly advance towards a terrified Patrick in his bed before Maxine arrived home and was distraught to find his body.
Nico's second murder will have huge repercussions for several characters this week and in the months to come too, kicking off Hollyoaks' 2016 storylines with a bang. But will justice be done, or can Nico sneak her way out of trouble once again?
