Hollyoaks actress Jessamy Stoddart has confirmed that she became a mum for the first time earlier this week.

Announcing the birth of her and husband Ryan O'Gorman's little bundle on Instagram today (January 7), the proud parent wrote next to a cot picture: "Our little girl," while also revealing they'd named her Joni Drew O'Gorman and that she weighed 8 pounds 4 ounces upon arrival.

"After every storm comes a rainbow and this rainbow came on the anniversary of of us first finding out we were pregnant. We are besotted. @lwhhomebirthteam & @liverpoolwomens I owe you the world xxx."

Soap co-star Nikki Sanderson (Maxine Minniver) replied in the comment section: "Aww congratulations!! Fantastic news she is adorable x", while Mandy Richardson's Sarah Jayne Dunn congratulated the couple with: "Oh my congratulations you guys, she is just perfect".

Cindy Cunningham's Stephanie Waring and Nancy Hayton's Jessica Fox also made sure to pass on their best wishes, each sharing: "Congratulations to you both what a perfect beautiful gift! Welcome to the world Joni," and "The biggest congratulations! You are you an absolute Wonder Woman and Joni is perfect in every way xxx".
