Hollyoaks has aired a twist in Maya Harkwell's murder investigation.
In tonight's (May 26) episode, Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) became the prime suspect in Maya's (Ky Discala) case.
Earlier this year, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) helped Ethan Williams (Matthew James-Bailey) hide Maya's body, but recently Sienna and Ste moved the body to the graveyard without telling Ethan, causing DS Lexi Calder (Natalie Anderson) to discover it.

In the new scenes, DS Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown) learnt that Ethan might not be the prime suspect anymore as someone else had been brought in for questioning.

At the end of the episode, Ste and Sienna were shocked to see Leela getting out of a police car. When Leela told them she had been asked questions concerning Maya's death, the cleaning duo panicked.
"You didn't tell them about Maya?" Ste asked.
"I didn't say anything!" Leela said in frustration.

Leela then explained she had become the main suspect after a cloth with Deadly Sheen's logo was found on the body, linking her to Maya's suspicious death.
It was revealed that Ste had dropped the cloth when moving the body.
"You two need to find a way to clear my name," a furious Leela hissed as Ste and Sienna apologised.

Hollyoaks now streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
