Hollyoaks reveals new proposal storyline for Nancy and Darren

Hollyoaks spoilers follow.

Monday's preview (April 25) of Hollyoaks has revealed Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) will pop the question to Nancy (Jessica Fox) to reaffirm his commitment to her.

In scenes set to air next week, Darren and Nancy will be arguing over his lack of support during her pregnancy.

After receiving some exciting news, he decides to make a romantic statement in the form of a proposal to alleviate any doubts she may have.

The preview clip shows, however, that the proposal doesn't quite go as planned.

After Nancy pillages an empty fridge with a hankering for sardines, Darren appears with a black bag before asking her to wear what's inside and meet him on the Dog patio a little later.

The subsequent scene introduces Nancy with a close-up of her chunky black shoes complete with '90s emo attire to the backing audio of punk-rock music, as she walks toward Darren.

Having realised Darren is also donning nostalgic '90s apparel, Nancy then asks Darren: "Why are we dressed like we were before we even got together?" To which Darren replies: "It was in this pub I first ever laid eyes on you..." and continues his trip down memory lane.

An impatient Nancy then prompts him to get to the point, until he finally declares his plans to recommit to her: "What if we could press reset, and go back to the beginning?" he asks.

After a confused Nancy tilts her head with bewilderment, he reveals a ring box from his gilet pocket and finally pops the question.

"Absolutely not!" replies Nancy, utterly bemused by his re-proposal.

Will the pair walk down the aisle again?

Hollyoaks now streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4.
