Hollyoaks star Ross Adams has promised that his character Scott Drinkwell's fostering storyline will be long-term.
Scott has had a tough time on the soap, after he was left broken-hearted when his husband Mitchell departed the village. It's left a hole in his heart, which he wants to fill by doing something noble: fostering a child.
Adams has revealed that Scott is ready for the challenge, and that fans will be able to see him through the journey.

Speaking to Inside Soap, he said: "We're going to be with Scott for his whole journey – and I don't know when or how it's going to end."
Adams said that Scott decides to foster a child upon looking after his friend's daughter, Mary, over Christmas. Scott's aunt Diane then tells him to "look into fostering", and the actor said where the storyline goes next is "really exciting".

Adams added that he believes that it's an interesting story to tell, saying: "Usually when soaps explore fostering or adoption, the characters are in a couple. But Scott is doing this entirely on his own.

"He doesn't have a partner to go on this journey with – and that's what's important."
But Adams said that on first learning of the storyline, he wondered if Scott would "be any good" at fostering.
"A lot has happened in the past, he found out he was adopted not that long ago," he explained. More recently he had that huge trauma of losing Mitchell. He's also had setbacks due to mental health – but Scott is stronger than he thinks.
"He's got so much love to give, and it will be nice to see him give that to somebody who really needs it."
