Hollyoaks has revealed a huge new storyline twist for Maxine Minniver.
Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) takes centre stage in the Channel 4 soap's New Year's Eve episode, as her mum Trish drops a bombshell that could change her life forever.
The major revelation is available to watch now on Hollyoaks' Christmas box set on All4, which contains eight episodes in total.
In the new scenes, Trish (Denise Welch) becomes concerned when she crosses paths with village newcomer Dave Chen-Williams, who's played by former Emmerdale actor Dominic Power.

It turns out that Trish and Dave already know each other and they're both unsettled to now be in such close proximity.
Dave is part of a big new family for Hollyoaks, as he has joined the village with his wife Honour (Vera Chok), daughter Lizzie (Lily Best), sons Sam (Matthew McGivern) and Mason (Frank Kauer) and stepdaughter Serena (Emma Lau).
Dave's brother Ethan (Matthew James-Bailey), who's in a relationship with dangerous Maya (Ky Discala), is also part of the clan.
When Maxine learns that Trish is planning to leave the village to make a fresh start with Mitzeee in Los Angeles, she tries to set her up with Dave so that she'll stay.

Maxine is shocked to discover that Trish already knows Dave and pushes her for an explanation.
Trish admits that she and Dave were lovers years ago, adding: "He was married, Maxine, and I'm not proud of it. He totally broke my heart and now seeing him again, it just brings it all back."
Maxine later decides that Honour deserves to know that her husband was a love rat in his previous marriage and prepares to give the couple a piece of her mind.

Trish urges her not to and reveals: "I'm not protecting him, Max, I'm protecting you. Maxine, Dave is your father."

Hollyoaks' festive box set is streaming now on All4. The Christmas episodes will also air across the next fortnight on Channel 4 and E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
