Hollyoaks will re-air its five most recent episodes on E4, as the build-up continues to the show's return.

Regular screenings of Hollyoaks have been absent from our screens since the end of July, when the popular soap ran out of new episodes to show. Hollyoaks has been filling the gap with a special E4 rerun series called Hollyoaks@25, which gives fans another chance to see five of the most dramatic weeks from the programme's history.

Hollyoaks@25 will come to an end next week after revisiting the memorable Halloween Spooktacular stunt, which led to the death of Joe Roscoe and the apparent death of Nico Blake.

Newly-released schedules for the week commencing Monday, August 31 have now revealed plans to re-air some much more recent episodes afterwards.

The last five episodes of Hollyoaks – focusing on Darren Osborne's depression storyline, Warren Fox's childhood history with Felix Westwood and the build-up to Scott Drinkwell and Mitchell Deveraux's wedding – will be screened again throughout the week.

It's also a first chance for viewers to see these episodes as they were originally intended to be shown – stripped across one week, rather than spaced out over three when the show was rationing content earlier this year.

An official return date for Hollyoaks has yet to be announced, but the show is expected to be back on our screens in September.

Meanwhile, this week's episodes of Hollyoaks@25 are revisiting serial killer Silas Blissett's memorable feud with Lynsey Nolan.

Hollyoaks@25 airs weeknights at 7pm on E4.
