Note: This article contains spoilers from Thursday’s E4 first-look episode (October 31) of Hollyoaks, which some readers may prefer to avoid.
Tonight’s first-look episode of Hollyoaks saw a three-hander unfold, focusing on the love triangle between Mitchell Deveraux, Cleo McQueen, and Scott Drinkwell.
After finding out about Mitchell’s (Imran Adams) secret relationship with Scott’s (Ross Adams) drag alter-ego Anita Tinkle, Cleo (Nadine Mulkerrin) confronts her partner in emotional scenes.
And while it was tears and dramatics in the hospital as Cleo gears up for her departure, in real life Nadine’s having a much nicer time. The star is ready to enjoy maternity leave after welcoming the arrival of her baby boy Reggie, who she had with real-life fiancé and co-star Rory Douglas-Speed, who plays Joel Dexter on the show.
And in tonight’s episode, Nadine enjoyed a touching moment with her partner and father to her baby, as their characters sat down for a heart-to-heart for the final scene.
After Mitchell declares his love for Scott, Cleo confirms things are over between them and decides it’s time to leave.
What to Read Next
She calls up Joel and the pair meet in the village, where they’re confronted with the aftermath of the disaster which hit during Hollyoaks’ Stunt Week.
It’s here that she tells him, “I just needed to see a friendly face,” before admitting, “I’m moving away,” marking a rather fitting conclusion for the character and for Nadine IRL.
As for what comes next, Cleo and Mitchell might be over – but for he and Scott, things are only just beginning.
Hollyoaks airs Mondays through Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first-look episodes airing at 7pm on E4.
