Hollyoaks' Maxine Minniver will be accused of lying about her illness in a brand new twist next week.

Maxine (Nikki Sanderson) has spent the past few months claiming to be seriously ill, but viewers know that she has Munchausen's syndrome – a psychological disorder where someone pretends to be unwell.

As Maxine's lies continue to spiral out of control, upcoming scenes will see her take things even further by telling her story live on This Morning.

Unfortunately for Maxine, the media hype ends up attracting the the attention of experienced Dr. Levi Rochester, who is intrigued by her condition and is determined to get to the bottom of what's wrong with her.

As Maxine does her best to get out of seeing Levi next week, her concerned partner Damon tricks her into going to the meeting regardless.

However, when Mitchell starts to compare her blood results, he is shocked to discover the blood type is different from her last test.

Following his discovery, Mitchell takes his findings to Misbah – explaining that he thinks Maxine switched the samples and is faking the whole thing.

Taking matters into his own hands, Mitchell plans to confront Maxine but is stopped in his tracks when he spots Levi first.

As Mitchell starts to tell Levi that he suspects Maxine is faking her illness, their conversation is overheard by Damon – who drags them both to see Maxine. Is the truth finally about to come out?
