Emmerdale teen Sarah Sugden receives life-changing news next week, as she hears that she's finally getting a new heart.
Sarah (Katie Hill) has been on the transplant list since the summer, when she was diagnosed with heart failure due to a rare side-effect from her chemotherapy treatment.
Next week, the moment that the Dingles have been waiting for finally arrives as the transplant coordinator comes to see Sarah and explains that they've found her a new heart at last.
Sarah panics when she hears the news as she's very nervous about the operation, but Debbie (Charley Webb) joins her bedside and tries to calm her down.
As Sarah is wheeled away for the life-or-death operation, Debbie can't help fearing the worst as she wonders whether she'll ever see her daughter again.
Later on, Sarah's family anxiously wait for news on her condition, but the doctors are unable to provide a definitive answer.
