It may have been in awful circumstances, but Emmerdale viewers were overjoyed to see Aaron Dingle and Adam Barton share some scenes together in tonight's episode.
Adam is currently in prison after falsely confessing to the murder of Emma Barton in a bid to protect his mum Moira Dingle (the real culprit), and tonight (December 29) Aaron visited his friend to see how he was holding up.
During the visit, Adam lied to Aaron, saying that he did kill Emma and would be pleading guilty to manslaughter, while also asking Aaron to tell Moira that he's doing fine in prison.
For Emmerdale viewers, though, it was just lovely to see Adam and Aaron talking again – especially as fans will know that returning to the prison was undoubtedly hard for Aaron after everything he went through when he was locked up earlier this year.

Some (okay, one) viewers were left feeling a little angry that we didn't see a similar scene between Aaron and Adam when Aaron was in prison:
