Emmerdale aired the moment fans have been waiting for tonight (July 28), as justice was finally served for Rhona Goskirk when Pierce Harris was convicted for raping her.
At the trial's close, Pierce was sentenced to five years in prison after being found guilty of attacking his wife Rhona on their wedding day.
The emotional and tense trial scenes have played out over this week's episodes, with the big question being whether the jury would believe Rhona's honest testimony over Pierce's awful lies.
Rhona was overcome with emotion after hearing the guilty verdict and immediately fled the court room – leaving her jubilant loved ones to hear Pierce's sentencing.
But although Pierce is now out of her life, it's painfully clear that there is still a long journey ahead for an exhausted Rhona as she returns home to her son Leo.
Reacting to the verdict, Rhona actress Zoe Henry said: "It's a moment of disbelief, she didn't dare hope for this and it's happened.

"But there is a numbness and an emptiness that still overwhelms her. It's not the reaction she thought she'd have, or as a viewer you'd think she would have, but it's been so enormous and so exhausting that actually what comes is tears and overwhelming sadness.
"At the end of the day, she did love Pierce and she's been left in a situation where she is not the woman she was. She was married to a man who abused her and her life is now in tatters. It's quite moving how she reacts."
Unsurprisingly, Pierce's lengthy prison sentence will be bringing an end to Jonathan Wrather's time on the show, after a year and a half of playing the evil character.
Speaking about Jonathan's departure, Zoe added: "I'm absolutely gutted. There is no other way to describe it. You do become really close and Johnny often stays with us when he's filming.
"But as devastated as I am to be saying goodbye to a colleague, I absolutely know that I have made a new friend and I know I will be seeing him again socially – I'm just sad it won't be in the work capacity."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
