What to Read Next
Did you miss any soap gossip this week? Don't worry if so, as we're on hand with our regular Sunday round-up of the biggest headlines from the past week.
Emmerdale confirms Rose's fate
Emmerdale has maintained a healthy dose of soap mystery over absent character Rose in the past few weeks. Is she dead or alive? Is Will hiding the truth over her whereabouts, or does Kim know more than she's letting on? Kim did scarper to Dubai pretty quickly, after all.
Show bosses have promised that all will be revealed in Bank Holiday Monday's episode (August 26) as Will is caught out over his role in the mystery. Dawn seems likely to be heavily involved after she was seen lying to Will this week. Fond of a flashback, Emmerdale will also be rewinding the clock to fill in the gaps for viewers.
Coronation Street waves goodbye to Sabrina
Corrie guest character Sabrina looks set to make her final appearance on the show in a few weeks' time.
Luana Santos announced the news on Instagram this week, confirming that she'd completed her last day of filming.
Sharing a photo from the set, Luana wrote: "Last day with Corrie, thanks for everything. Drama school here I come."
While we haven't seen much of Sabrina recently, she's still Max's girlfriend so it seems that the teens will be splitting up in the coming weeks.
The Six story ramps up again in EastEnders
Digital Spy was lucky enough to spend some exclusive time with the EastEnders cast recently, as they took part in their official nominees photoshoot for the Inside Soap Awards 2024.
In between posing for some glamorous photos, the Walford stars chatted to the Digital Spy team on video and answered some burning questions about ongoing storylines.
Don't miss our chats on the site with Angela Wynter (Yolande Trueman), Sophie Khan Levy (Priya Nandra-Hart), Heather Peace (Eve Unwin), Navin Chowdhry (Nish Panesar) and Scott Maslen (Jack Branning).
Scott spoke about the future of The Six storyline, hinting at a new chapter of drama hitting our screens soon.
This could potentially tie in with Dean Wicks' upcoming trial, which has been confirmed to air in the first week of September. Some new pictures from those episodes have been released here.
Teasing Jack's future, Scott explained: "There's obviously the ongoing scenario with The Six and trying to maintain some form of control over what they're doing.
"He's a policeman, and it's handy to have a policeman in this situation to guide them a little bit. And he's involved now, he's in. So the stakes are very high, that's where it's going. It's simmering at the moment, but we're going to get to a boil."
Hollyoaks exit ahead for Charlie Dean
Digital Spy broke the news this week that Hollyoaks star Charlie Behan, who plays young character Charlie Dean, will be leaving the Channel 4 soap amid the upcoming cast reduction.
Charlie is expected to bow out in the coming weeks, as Behan has already filmed his final scenes.
It's fair to say that the news disappointed many fans, who'd praised Behan's impressive performances in Charlie's mental health storyline last year.
Viewers had also been calling for Charlie to play a bigger role in Frankie and JJ's sibling sexual abuse storyline, as a source of support for Frankie.
Sadly, it seems that show bosses were instead phasing Charlie out with his lack of appearances in recent months.
Bethany's Coronation Street future confirmed
Coronation Street favourite Lucy Fallon shared some happy news with fans this week, announcing that she and partner Ryan Ledson are expecting another child together.
Once the congratulations messages had poured in, Lucy was soon quizzed by fans over what this meant for her Weatherfield character Bethany Platt.
In an Instagram Story, Lucy explained: "Lots of Corrie related q's - I won't be away for toooo long and I am returning after I pop the baby out."
Emmerdale sets up Nate's exit storyline
Emmerdale recently released two Nate-focused spoilers as the show builds up to his exit from the village.
The ITV soap will be revisiting unfinished business between Nate and his estranged wife Tracy, with hints that Tracy is having second thoughts about their split.
However, just when it seems that a reunion could be on the cards, suspicion starts to arise that Nate is getting too close to his ex-lover Moira again.
Cain confronts Nate next week, leaving him hurt over being doubted by his dad. Could this be leading up to big trouble before Nate leaves the village?
A (short) special for Hollyoaks
Hollyoaks' final week as a five-night soap will see some changes to the usual schedule. Six episodes will air on E4 in the week commencing Monday, September 2, as a rare double bill has been scheduled in for Friday, September 6.
E4 bosses have also commissioned Rob Beckett's Big Hollyoaks Catch-Up, which probably won't be as "big" as it sounds as it only has a five-minute slot in the schedules.
The synopsis for this special reads: "A snappy recap from Rob Beckett brings us up to speed with everything there is to know in the world of Hollyoaks ahead of the hotly anticipated stunt week."
This airs on E4 at 10pm on Thursday, September 5, with another chance to watch at 8pm on Friday, September 6.
In the meantime, a new Channel 4 trailer has been released and Hollyoaks' official autumn trailer is on the way too.
A sad goodbye in Home and Away – big spoilers ahead
Home and Away aired Jacqui Purvis's final scenes in the role of Felicity Newman on Australian screens this week.
Last week, Felicity suffered a brain aneurysm on the day of her brother Cash's engagement party. She was later declared brain dead by doctors, with Cash initially struggling to accept the news.
This Monday, Felicity's life support machines were turned off, marking Jacqui's final appearance after three years.
These heartbreaking scenes will air on Channel 5 in October.
