Emmerdale's Anthony Quinlan on which soap he'd love to do next

Anthony Quinlan is one of many actors to have more than one soap on his CV, having played Gilly Roach in Hollyoaks for six years and Pete Barton in Emmerdale for seven.

Although he left our screens to focus on running his business, there is one soap he'd be more than happy to do.

"I think for me Coronation Street is the one I'd love to do," he told OK!. "I'm a Manchester boy, it's literally on my doorstep – I'm still in Manchester so, I would love to do Corrie. Corrie a great show. At some point in my career, I'd like to tick that one off 100 per cent!

Of course, he'd never rule out a return to Emmerdale, stating: "You never know if that is the case or not. But again, it's one of those things you never say never, you know?

"So, who knows! Who knows what the future holds!"

Recently, Quinlan confirmed that he is in a relationship with former Corrie and current Hollyoaks star Nikki Sanderson, years after first meeting her (not on the Channel 4 soap, however – their stints weren't at the same time).

"We've known each other for years," he said. "There were rumours we met at the gym, which we had a bit of a laugh about.

"I slid into the DMs and that was it. I was lucky enough to get a date and the rest is history...

"She's lovely. I'm happy that it is what it is and we haven't got everyone prying. She's very supportive, in many respects."

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub. Hollyoaks now streams first on All 4, with new episodes dropping each weekday morning. The show airs Mondays to Fridays at 6.30pm on Channel 4, and at 7pm on E4. Selected omnibus episodes are available via Amazon Prime Video.
