Emmerdale's Jai Sharma faces new heartbreak over his relationship with Laurel Thomas next week, as she accuses him of taking drugs again.

Jai and Laurel soon meet up with a stubborn Kim and present to her a case study arguing against zero-hour contracts, hoping that their efforts can make a difference to the HOP's workers.

That evening, Laurel arrives at Holdgate and announces to Jai that, after seeing the way that he has handled the strike situation, she is ready for them to get back together properly. The couple are overjoyed to have rekindled their relationship and Jai feels on top of the world.

When Jai later realises that he can't find his wallet, he and Laurel return to Take A Vow to search for it. They soon discover the wallet lurking down the back of a chair, but are shocked when they also find a tiny bag of drugs with it.

With Jai having previously battled drug addiction, Laurel and his sister Priya Kotecha (Fiona Wade) both accuse him of being the owner of the bag.

Confused, Jai struggles to find an explanation but Laurel takes this as an admittance of guilt and explodes with rage at Jai, who is convinced that Kim must have set him up.

The next day, Jai is determined to win Laurel round again and, when she finally starts to believe his version of the story, he almost collapses with relief to have earned her trust again.

When they get to work, Jai and Laurel can't stop bickering behind the counter and their tension is noticed by Kim, who quickly puts both of their jobs on the line.

Is this the end of the road for the couple after all their troubles?
