Emmerdale star Charley Webb hasn't played Debbie Dingle on-screen for about a year, but she hasn't forgotten her former soap colleagues.

The actress shared a series of photos to her Instagram on March 13, which showed her having some fun with stars Emma Atkins (Charity), Jeff Hordley (Cain), Zoë Henry (Rhona Goskirk) and Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle).

"I will forever love my old work family," she wrote in the caption. "My heart feels so full and grateful they came into my life all those years ago. They will last a lifetime."

Charley stated earlier this year that she doesn't plan on returning as Debbie Dingle any time soon, but she is looking at other acting roles and will make her return "when the right thing comes to me".

Although Charley had played Debbie for 19 years by the time she left, she didn't want to make a huge fuss about her departure, stating earlier this year: "This is always my most asked question but I've never answered it before because I've never wanted to make a big deal of it.

"I left to have [son] Ace [two] years ago. I went back at the end of last year for 10 weeks to complete a storyline. So, I guess officially it's been a year. I never felt the need to announce it which is why we didn't."

Last week, Emmerdale and EastEnders both moved to a daily 7.30pm slot (except for Fridays, where EastEnders doesn't air anymore), meaning the two are constantly going head-to-head in the ratings.

While catch-up makes a huge part of a show's audience, as far as live viewers are concerned, it looks like Emmerdale is coming out on top.

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV and streams on the ITV Hub.
