Emmerdale's Gabby plans shock exit as she fears Kim's next move

Emmerdale's Gabby Thomas will come up with a plan to flee the village next week as she fears that Kim Tate could be plotting to take her child.

Following the apparent death of her son Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) after he drove his car into a lake, Kim (Claire King) has become convinced that he is still alive, despite the fact that her theories have begun to turn people against her.

Next week, Kim continues to cause trouble when she proposes that Gabby (Rosie Bentham) draw up a will which will give Kim sole parental rights to the baby that Gabby is currently expecting with Jamie.

Later on, Gabby overhears Kim making a phone call to her lawyer in which she ruthlessly demands that she obtain full custody of Jamie's daughter, Millie, by any means possible - despite the fact that Millie's mum Andrea Tate (Anna Nightingale) has ordered Kim to stay away from Millie.

Later on, Gabby's grandmother Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen), who is feeling frustrated with her own life in the village at the moment, suggests to Gabby that they flee the Dales together to get away from their troubles.

Diane is further alarmed when she hears that Kim wants to amend Gabby's will to state that she will get custody of Gabby's baby if anything happens to Gabby.

Gabby and Diane meet up with Gabby's mum Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) at the Woolpack and share their plan to move abroad to Portugal, which leaves Bernice shocked.

Diane and Gabby are later thrilled when Bernice catches up with them and suggests that she could move to Portugal with them as well. The pair remind Bernice that she needs to keep quiet about Gabby's plan to move away as Kim cannot find out.

But can the trio keep their secret plans under wraps – and will Gabby really leave the village behind?

We do know, however, that Diane will definitely be departing the Dales soon, with actress Elizabeth Estensen having recently announced her retirement from the soap after 22 years.

Elizabeth has already filmed her final scenes, although Diane will still remain on screen for a little while longer.

Speaking about her decision to leave, the actress said that she has "loved playing Diane Sugden", calling her "kind, reliable, and fiercely loyal" and adding that "Emmerdale will always remain special to me".
