Emmerdale star Kevin Mathurin has opened up about who he would like to join the cast of the ITV soap.

His choice – alongside Scarlett Johansson – is none other than Alex Walkinshaw, who plays Fletch in Holby City.

The actor, who plays vicar Charles Anderson on the soap, told Inside Soap that the pair of them went to school together and he'd love to work alongside him.

When asked which actor he'd cast in the soap, he replied, "Alex Walkinshaw, who plays Fletch in Holby. We went to school and college together, and he's like family. I'm so proud of what he's achieved in his career, and it'd be brilliant to work with him."

Kevin has been busy since he joined the show at the end of last year. His character has been revealed to have a complicated past with Manpreet Sharma, which threatened her marriage to Rishi Sharma.

Charles is currently supporting Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) in his plans for his daughter Leanna's funeral following her tragic death at the hands of Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu) earlier this month.
