1. Charity and Mackenzie's criminal plan goes wrong
After the Dingles' dramatic Christmas, Charity turns back to Mackenzie for another criminal job. This time, the scheming pair are planning to rob a van driver so they can make a tidy sum by selling on the loot.
The task turns out to be much more difficult than they'd expected, so Charity is forced to knock out the driver by hitting him over the back of the head with a spanner.
With the man out cold, Charity and Mack eagerly get to work on sorting through the boxes and finding the most valuable items. However, when the driver wakes up and grabs a baseball bat, Charity and Mack could lose their upper hand.
2. Kim wants Mackenzie's help
Kim may have had a tense introduction to Mackenzie, but she seems quietly impressed by his steely attitude. She now believes he could play a useful role in her own plans – oh dear.
Kim promises Mack that he can expect a lucrative reward if he helps her to bring down Cain. Mack's relationship with his brother-in-law is far from friendly, so could he be tempted by the offer?
3. Aaron receives an offer of his own
Aaron is the next villager to find himself in Mackenzie's orbit, as the mischievous newcomer approaches him over a dodgy deal.
Mackenzie asks Aaron whether he'd be willing to shift some stolen cars through the scrapyard, in return for a cut of the profits. Will Aaron really be willing to risk prison again?
4. Mackenzie and Charity's next target is Home Farm
While spending time at Home Farm, Mack is intrigued to spot Kim accessing a secret safe. He makes a mental note, wanting to target it in a future robbery.
Mack later confides in Charity and they agree to break into Home Farm on New Year's Eve. However, before the day is over, one of them will betray the other.
5. Priya makes a call which could expose everything
Priya presses ahead with plans for her upcoming wedding. She decides that she'd like to invite Al's parents, so asks Ellis for help getting in touch with them.
Priya later makes a call to a number, believing that it belongs to Al's adoptive parents, but in reality, she's unwittingly calling her fiancé's mystery woman. Is Al's affair about to be exposed?
6. Charles shares some big news with Harriet
The week after Christmas is a difficult one for Harriet, as she's still plagued with guilt over moving Malone's body. She starts making visits to his new grave, showing that she's nowhere near close to moving on from the incident.
While Harriet is distracted by her guilty secret, there are big changes ahead at the church. New vicar Charles approaches Harriet and explains that their parishes are merging, so they'll be working together from now on.
7. Harriet's secret is under threat
Harriet later marks New Year all alone, sitting regretfully next to Malone's new grave on the Home Farm grounds.
The next morning, Charles warns Harriet that he believes a grave has been disturbed outside the church. Harriet worries, knowing that he must be referring to the one that Malone used to be in. Could the villain's murder be uncovered?
8. Rhona and Marlon's romance is revisited
Marlon is feeling thoughtful as 2020 comes to an end, recognising that he's lonely after so many months being single. He confides in Paddy about his romantic woes.
Marlon ends up spending New Year's Eve at Rhona's place. There are tell-tale signs that Rhona's old attraction to Marlon has been renewed as they spend the evening together, especially when Marlon gushes over how much he has enjoyed himself.
9. Jamie's troubles start to pile up
Life isn't getting any easier for Jamie, even now that his mum Kim is back to keep an eye on him.
Andrea holds out an olive branch by agreeing that Jamie can have Millie on New Year's Day, but insists that it's only on the condition that Kim makes herself scarce. Kim is furious at being cut off from having access to her granddaughter, leaving Jamie caught in the middle.
Jamie also has to break the news to his staff that their bonuses are being cut. He receives some unlikely support from Gabby, who comforts him over the difficult situation that he's in.
New Year's Day also turns into a worrying time when Millie goes missing while under Jamie and Dawn's supervision. Can she be found before Andrea finds out?
10. Paul makes a promise to Vinny
Mandy is determined to see out 2020 with a bang as she plans an alcohol-fuelled New Year celebration.
Paul also vows to start off 2021 on a more honest note, promising Vinny that he'll tell Mandy about his gambling that night. Will he stick to this?
11. Charity makes an offer to Noah
Charity is feeling guilty about some of her recent behaviour, but the big question is whether she and Chas will be able to patch things up after the events of Christmas.
One person Charity is looking to make amends with is her son Noah, having neglected him throughout her recent downward spiral. She impulsively offers to pay for Noah's university education – will this be enough to impress him?
