Emmerdale fans have praised the heartwarming scenes between Vanessa Woodfield and Charity Dingle that aired tonight (October 12) as the couple celebrated their anniversary.
Vanessa has been away from the village for a number of weeks as actress Michelle Hardwick is on maternity leave, but tonight's scenes saw Vanessa make a return cameo as she and Charity (Emma Atkins) spent some quality (virtual) time together.

However, it turned out that Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) had been plotting a big surprise for her – a socially-distanced reunion with her fiancée.
Vanessa appeared before Charity in the form of a tablet computer attached to a mannequin, notably fashioned in the superhero halloween costume Vanessa was wearing when they shared their first kiss in the Woolpack cellar.
Fans were touched by the exchange and soon took to Twitter to praise the scene.
"The way the mannequin and a zoom call has more chemistry than well you know... I LOVED THAT #Vanity come back soon Vanessa we miss you!!!" tweeted one fan.
Another wrote: "Vanity is back on our screens and it's beautiful!"

In real life, Michelle is on maternity leave and recently welcomed a baby boy with her wife Kate Brooks.
"On Friday 9th October, this handsome little chap entered the world," she wrote on Instagram. "Edward 'Teddy' Peter Brooks we are so in love with you #ourlittleTeddyboy."
Emmerdale currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm on ITV.
