Emmerdale spoilers follow.
Emmerdale star Olivia Bromley has warned that viewers will see "awful" scenes following a big upcoming twist.
In new scenes on the soap, her character Dawn Taylor will sleep with Ellis Chapman in an attempt to push Billy Fletcher as far away as possible from finding out that she killed DI Malone.

Elaborating on Dawn's reasons for having a one-night stand with Ellis, Olivia explained: "Dawn is in a really dark and alone place. She's not behaving rationally, but she also feels like she needs to protect Billy, because he's been in prison before.

"She feels that Ellis is a way to put distance between her and Billy. It is premeditated, but she only makes the decision to do it once she's under the influence of drink.
Olivia noted that Billy knows Dawn is "behaving suspiciously and that something is wrong", adding: "She's terrified that if Billy gets too close to the truth, she will put him in danger as he could potentially go back to prison.
"She's also really holding onto the secret because it's about protecting everyone she knows and loves. As Billy gets closer to the truth, all she wants is to put distance between them."
The actress revealed that moment Dawn admits the truth to Billy is "awful for Dawn, it's so, so painful", but said "she's in such a low place and she's so fearful.
"Everything else in her world feels so vulnerable, so she's almost in self-destruct mode now. She had all of her life together, but now because of Malone, it's starting to crumble. She's ruining everything for herself as well. She really makes quite a dramatic announcement about it!"
Asked if there was any way back for the pair, Olivia continued: "It's funny, because Dawn's logic is so flawed, in a way.

"Really Billy would stand by her and protect her if he knew the truth about Malone, because he really loves her. But she's acting out of pure fear. If she had told Billy straight up, she would have had the support she needed.
"Who knows if there's hope – I'd like to say yes, because I think that Dawn needs Billy. But whether Billy can forgive her for causing so much pain, I don't know.
"I think it would be really nice for him to know the truth and that she never meant to hurt him, she was trying to protect him."
Emmerdale airs these scenes in the week commencing Monday, October 12 on ITV.
