Emmerdale executive producer Jane Hudson has hinted at some "huge storylines" coming up in 2020.

Backstage at yesterday's (January 28) National Television Awards, she was asked about what fans can expect over the next 12 months, following a strong 2019 from the ITV soap which saw them win last night's NTA for Serial Drama.

"You can expect even better storylines than we've just done this year [laughs]," Jane told Digital Spy and other media. "We have got so much coming up."

Referencing the current fallout to Graham's murder, she added: "Marlon's just been arrested so we'll see what happens in that story."

Before being scared off by a "glaring" Emmerdale press team, the executive producer also teased: "We've got some new characters arriving; we've got some huge storylines across the summer.

"We're gonna deliver some storylines our viewers have been waiting for, I think."

Emmerdale currently airs weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with an extra episode at 8pm on Thursdays.
