Emmerdale's Jai Sharma leaves his partner Laurel Thomas shocked tonight (January 16) as he confesses to buying drugs.
Jai reached breaking point yesterday while facing a stressful all-nighter at work, so he arranged for some cocaine to be delivered to his office.
In tonight's double bill, Jai still has the drugs and has managed to avoid temptation by leaving them untouched.
Jai has spent most of the night preparing for an important presentation, needing to impress a potential sponsor for the new outdoor pursuits centre.

However, before his client arrives, Jai has a heart-to-heart with Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and lets her know how close he came to a relapse last night.

With her own experience of addiction to draw on, Laurel is supportive and insists on getting rid of the cocaine so that Jai isn't tempted.
Unfortunately, Jai's troubles are only just beginning, with his high-pressure client meeting still to come – and scheming Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) making his life a misery at work.
Is it only a matter of time before his resolve to stay clean wavers?

Chris Bisson, who plays Jai, recently explained: "Laurel has been to Alcoholics Anonymous and Jai has been to Narcotics Anonymous, so there are similarities there.
"Jai comes clean and confesses to her – and he hopes that she will understand. But even then, he says: 'You do believe me, don't you?' There's always that little bit of doubt that even though he's telling the truth, he won't be believed."
Emmerdale airs tonight at 7pm and 8pm on ITV.
