Emmerdale star Natalie Ann Jamieson has warned that her character Amy Wyatt could be banned from seeing her son Kyle after next week's life-or-death drama.

The show has revealed that Kyle's life will hang in the balance next week after he wanders off when Amy is looking after him.

Kyle ends up locking himself in the Dingles' garage and playing in one of the cars, leading to alarming consequences when dangerous exhaust fumes start to fill the room.

Speaking about the guilt Amy will feel for not keeping a closer eye on Kyle, Natalie explained: "It'll tear her apart because she's messed up with Kyle before in the past. She's had years and years apart from him before this.

"Amy also remembers her own relationship with Kerry and how damaging that was – having that person there who could never quite look after you.

"Amy is now at a point where she feels like she can be someone who's stable in Kyle's life. So to mess up in a big way like this will be really tough for her."

Asked whether this could affect Amy's chances of seeing Kyle, Natalie replied: "Definitely. If Cain was to find out that Amy had done this, there would be no rational way of looking at it from his point of view.

"Moira perhaps, as a mother, might understand the situation. It was an accident, Kyle turned around and he was gone.

"But I don't think Cain would feel the same way. Cain would put the blame on Amy and that would ruin her chances of seeing Kyle. Kyle is the main reason she came back to the village so that would be awful."

Emmerdale currently airs on weeknights at 7pm on ITV, with extra episodes at 8pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
