Following that shocking conclusion in last night's EastEnders Christmas Day episode (December 25), the BBC One soap has revealed how the big stunt was filmed.

In a behind-the-scenes video clip on Twitter, the show shared that actresses Jacqueline Jossa (Lauren) and Lorna Fitzgerald (Abi) actually fell onto a raised 10 foot platform covered in crash mats and boxes during their big pub fall.

Jossa had previously teased about how the shocking twist was shot, explaining that she and co-star Fitzgerald did their own stunt work:

"Filming the scenes was freezing cold, as it was two in the morning! Lorna was not scared at all. But in fairness, she could see where she was falling and I was falling backwards! I didn't know what was going on!"

Max Branning star Jake Wood also heaped praise on EastEnders and his on-screen daughters for the impressive stunt work.

"They [the show] built a platform and they [Jacqueline and Lorna] had to fall off the back of the roof onto some boxes. I wouldn't have done it, so they were very brave!"
