Former EastEnders star Riley Carter Millington has addressed his disappointment over Kyle Slater's low-key exit last year.
The actor made EastEnders history when he became the first ever trans actor to take on a trans role in the show.
However, Riley was written out of the soap at the end of his year-long contract, alongside a number of other cast exits which were announced after the arrival of boss Sean O'Connor.
Speaking honestly about his exit, Riley told The Sun: "I was disappointed it was not shown that Kyle had a normal life.
"He had the big coming-out story and it was dramatic and emotional, but we didn't get to see a happy ending, like a relationship of any sort other than the reunion with his half-sister, Stacey. It was frustrating.
"I felt I let myself and the fans down as I could have pushed for something. It's a shame to have gay characters and then you have to say goodbye."

Since leaving the show, Riley has appeared in a stage production called SAFE, billed as a "powerful" new verbatim theatre piece that tells the story of LGBT youth who are homeless and at risk.
He also appeared in TLC's Celebrity Fat Fighters alongside X Factor star Stevi Ritchie and Gogglebox's Sandi Bogle.
EastEnders continues tonight (July 21) at 8pm on BBC One.
