He is the character that no one can seem to let go of, and even former EastEnders star Ricky Norwood reckons Fatboy could make a sensational return.

Fatboy was killed off in very grisly circumstances last year, but as we never saw his body, fans are hopeful that he could make a dramatic comeback one day.

"There are still petitions going on!", Ricky revealed to Inside Soap. "I get told, 'We want Fats back', on a daily basis, whether it's a message on Twitter or somebody I meet in the street.

"I'd never really had a Christmas storyline, and I liked that it was a secret that I knew would shock people. But I didn't realise it would get such a response.

"To have had that impact on the nation, with a character who was supposed to be on EastEnders for three months, was amazing."

But even Ricky has some creative ideas on how Fatboy could be brought back in – and they actually include his good friend Dot Branning (who is still none the wiser about his demise).

"It might be a bit too much for her if she ever found out the truth", Ricky said. "Dot saw Fats as pure and almost incorruptible, which is why she didn't want him messing about in too many dodgy things.

"His death would really hurt her, but storyline-wise it might be fun if she went on a secret rampage for Fats, messing up Vincent in one way or another."

EastEnders continues on Thursday, November 24 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
