Favourite memory: "That's a tricky one as there have been so many! I think she got the ultimate ending the last time, although she is coming back to end her run which I am sure will be emotional, but those scenes when The Vic was on fire and she later walked down the road and looked back at her pub before leaving. I think it was a very poignant and fitting exit and a very emotional one."

Favourite memory: "Any of Peggy's scenes where she is with her boys I just love. This time around, I remember sitting in the green room and seeing Peggy, Grant and Phil in the pub and I just went 'my god – there's history'.

"The three of them together was such a moment, it took your breath away a bit, it really did. For me, those were the days. Then Tish walked in and I said, 'Look at that. Ain't that a show!' It felt like it was time to reminisce and sit there and take it all in."

Classic quote: "It's all about faaaaaaaamily."

Favourite memory: "There are so many scenes that Barbara was great in. Her breast cancer storyline was a particularly poignant one. And I loved the time she was outside The Vic when it was going up in flames.

"She had Phil locked inside, as she was trying to get him over his drug addiction, but Phil escapes and sets the pub on fire. It would have been heart-breaking for her seeing The Vic like that, she is so associated with The Vic."

Classic quote: "There was a wonderful one, one day, when she came down the stairs in The Vic and said, 'What's going on down 'ere?' then the next minute she looked up and said 'What's going on out there?' That's Peggy, bossy little woman."

Favourite scene: "I'd have to say my favourite Peggy scenes were the ones involving her fighting with Pat! They were the best of friends and the worst of enemies at the same time and that's what was so brilliant about them.

"My absolute favourite was when they fought about Frank and Pat slapped Peggy and said, 'You bitch!' and Peggy slaps her back and says. 'You cow!' It was just so iconic and there was even a dance track made out of it. It was just a fantastic soap moment. It's what EastEnders are great at doing. Especially with those two as such brilliant matriarchs of The Square."

Classic quote: "When she slapped Pat and screamed, 'You cow!'"

Favourite memory: "Best moment is easy - the scene I filmed with her for her final episode. I was in absolute awe of her and she was so lovely to me.

"Those final scenes were very emotional for her and I felt honoured to share them with her."

Classic scene: "I'd probably say favourite scene was the one where she slapped Pat and then got slapped back!"

Favourite memory: "I loved every minute of working with Barbara but the best ones to film were always when Sharon and Peggy were at loggerheads. They were two strong women and neither of them would back down so all my rivalry scenes with Peggy were so much fun!

"One that really stands out is where Peggy was telling Sharon to leave Grant alone and Sharon said, 'If you so much as wag another polished nail in my direction you'll be picking your eyelashes out of that ice bucket!' Then another time she soaked me with water! There were also plenty of slaps between us over the years, and it was great telling her to 'Get outta my pub!'"

Classic quote: "When she said, 'I'm old East End'. Because she so is."

Favourite memory: "I loved every minute working with Barbara she is just the best! I loved Stacey and Peggy's relationship - she was constantly banning Stacey from the pub!  It was always great to film anything with Barbara."

Classic scene: "My favourite scene was Pat and Peggy drunk in the ice cream van! In fact every Pat and Peggy scenes were so good to watch over the years."

Favourite memory: "It's more of a favourite story; it has to be the relationship between Peggy and Pat. If I had to pick a scene, it would have to be the moment Peggy read out Frank's leaving letter then slapped them both!"

Favourite memory: "There are so many I couldn't possibly choose one. I was new to the show when I started working with her. I just loved hearing her talk and telling her funny stories and then I loved to watch her and learn about everything EastEnders

"If there was to be one moment that stands out though it would probably be all the times I got to have an aunt-to-niece heart-to-heart where Peggy was advising Roxy on how not to mess up her life entirely! I see Barbara as a real-life aunt so there was always something honest and warm about those scenes and she could always make me cry!"

Classic scene: "Let it burn!" I know how much The Vic meant to Barbara and I knew it actually did break her heart to see it burn. It marked the beginning of her official exit first time round and it was a very final moment for her and us."
