"It was an inside job," Sharon revealed to a frantic Sam. "He was terrified. Now, you have got to keep it together! Phil's last words to me were to make sure the launch [of Peggy's] was a success."
Sam bitterly replied: "You're a cold bitch."
When Sharon dispersed the goodbye letters Phil had written, Sam was furious to find out her brother did not write anything for her. Meanwhile, Kat Slater struggled with the idea that Phil might truly be gone.
Kat wept as she read the heartfelt letter where Phil referred to her as "the best mother" he ever knew — which didn't necessarily sit well with Sharon.

Before Kat could do it, Billy burst into the room to ask why he hasn't been told about Phil. The three women assumed he'd found out about Phil's death, but they were shocked as he opened the door to reveal Phil standing at the stairs!
"Is this my welcome home party?" Phil chuckled.
