EastEnders will see Rainie Highway make a heartbreaking discovery about husband Stuart as his cancer and postnatal depression storylines continue.

Stuart (Ricky Champ) struggles to bond with his newborn son, Roland, and is still hiding his painkillers from Rainie (Tanya Franks), which he is taking despite his history with addiction.

In an upcoming episode of the BBC soap, Stuart agrees to take Roland to his weigh-in, but when he finally holds the baby, he starts questioning if he can do it.

Later on, Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) offers to babysit Roland this week so Rainie can go to a hospital appointment with Stuart.

As Rainie enjoys some quiet time, Stuart arrives with Roland, claiming he forgot he has a separate physio appointment, trying to get out of spending time with his son. Rainie sees right through Stuart's lies and, once at home, finds his painkillers and confronts him.

Elsewhere, Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris) is upset to discover Mitch is planning to look after Roland to give Rainie a break, and after talking to Dotty Cotton (Milly Zero), she asks him not to.

Mitch agrees but reluctantly changes his mind when Rainie pleads with him to help her, promising they can keep it a secret.
