EastEnders will revisit Kheerat and Stacey's connection in upcoming scenes.
The pair had been flirting up a storm before Walford went into upheaval once serial killer Gray Atkins went on the run throughout the Square earlier in the month.
In a first look, Kheerat and Stacey try to pick up where things left off before all of the Gray drama by having a drink together at the Vic.
Unfortunately, the pair's date hits an immediate snag when Stacey's mum Jean Slater arrives at the pub and completely ignores her daughter.
Stacey has been growing increasingly worried that Jean is going through a manic episode, but can't get her mum to accept any professional help or even recognise anything is wrong.

Last week, tensions within the family came to a head when Stacey and ex-husband Martin Fowler caught Jean taking young Arthur to the train station where his father Kush was murdered by Gray.
When Stacey banned Jean from being alone with the children, her mum insisted Stacey is dead to her and has moved in with boyfriend Harvey Monroe.
The Panesars have had their own trouble in recent weeks. Kheerat was arrested hours before Gray was apprehended because of the physical fight they'd had.
His attorney had advised Kheerat to plead guilty to assault charges before Dotty Cotton and Eve Unwin were able to figure out the lawyer was secretly working for rival family, the Sharmas. Kheerat was subsequently freed.
These new scenes for Kheerat Panesar and Stacey Slater will be airing on EastEnders on Monday (March 28) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
