EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders will see Kathy Beale pursue a new love interest next week after her romance with Terry 'Rocky' Cant fizzles out.

Rocky (Brian Conley) went all out to woo Kathy (Gillian Taylforth) after he arrived on the Square with some big romantic gestures. However, tensions arose between them when Rocky told Harvey Monroe (Ross Boatman) about Kathy's grandson Bobby (Clay Milner Russell) killing his sister Lucy, putting Bobby's relationship with Harvey's daughter Dana Monroe (Barbara Smith) in jeopardy.

Next week, Rocky turns his attentions to Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) as he continues to try to help her launch a music career. While Rocky is busy promoting Whitney's charity gig at The Queen Vic, he spots Kathy and Bobby.

Bobby notices that Kathy is looking over at Rocky and he suggests that she find someone new to take her mind off Rocky following the end of their romance.

When Kathy later tells Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) that she doesn't have a date to Whitney's gig, Karen suggests that she goes with new arrival Harvey, giving Kathy food for thought. As the gig kicks off, Bobby and Dana are shocked to see Kathy and Harvey together.

Whitney feels nervous ahead of her performance and tries to make her escape from the pub, but Rocky stops her from leaving. Whitney eventually summons the courage to take to the stage and the crowd adore her.

Following Whitney's set, Rocky approaches Kathy and tells her that he is pleased to see that she has moved on.

Kathy is stung by Rocky's nonchalance about the situation and she quickly decides that her date with Harvey is now very real.

Could something more solid start to develop between Kathy and Harvey?

It seems that Harvey will be sticking around in Walford for the foreseeable future, with his daughter Dana's relationship with Bobby flourishing and his son Aaron, played by former Hollyoaks star Charlie Wernham, also due to arrive on the Square soon.

EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, August 23 at 8.05pm on BBC One.
