EastEnders spoilers follow.

The first official trailer for the return of EastEnders has promised that it's all going down in Walford next week!

Although the clip is just 30 seconds long, there are glimpses of dramatic new storylines for the Carters, Chantelle and Gray, Ben and Callum, and the Panesars beginning next Monday when EastEnders is back on screens!

The most jaw-dropping moment is the sudden reappearance of Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) taking best friend Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) by total surprise.

"You know what? I don't think you're pleased to see me," Stacey complains.

What to Read Next

Little does Stacey know that Ruby has been hooking up with her estranged husband Martin (James Bye) over the last few months. A showdown is on the way

Ian Beale's (Adam Woodyatt) new life as co-owner of the Vic starts to unravel as well, with the teaser seemingly offering a sneak peek at Sharon (Letitia Dean) learning the truth about Dennis' death.

Last week, EastEnders producers Kate Oates and Jon Sen promised Digital Spy that there are shocking storylines ahead for almost all of the Walford regulars.

Watch the new trailer below:

"We have a big story for the Carters which puts Mick's anxiety storyline into context and where it came from," Oates told us.

"We have some amazing stories about how lives have been affected during lockdown. Chantelle hasn't had it easy – that's a huge story for the Taylors and the Atkins family. Kush hasn't had it easy as there is a story for him and Kat there, and Bobby hasn't had it easy so that plays into the Beale family storyline.

"There's good stuff for Ben and Callum as his police officer role encroaches on life with the Mitchells. And some really refreshing partnerships and different character dynamics. Friendships, relationships you perhaps hadn't seen before and considered. That leads to really exciting and refreshing storylines – there's some big surprises in there."

EastEnders resumes new episodes on Monday, September 7 at 8.05pm on BBC One.
